Rumor: Nintendo website may point to possible new Switch 2 model
Just when you thought that we’d be past Nintendo hardware speculation for a good chunk of time following the launch of Switch 2, we’re right back where we were before the system’s launch with a new rumor.
The latest talking point is about some sort of potential device that we’ve yet to see. Fans noticed that on the Nintendo Account portal site, there’s a model with the name “OSM”.
This is further unconfirmed, but there’s a chance we could know what OSM might stand for. Nintendo Switch 2 apparently had the codename “Ounce”, and fans are wondering if “OSM” could be “Ounce Small Model”. Further speculation could have this being something like a Nintendo Switch 2 Lite or some sort of smaller model.
Bluesky user dootsky.re shared the discovery on social media today. The Nintendo Account portal contains images for each Nintendo Switch model. When you attempt to plug in OSM, it shows a Nintendo Switch 2 image. The website script also lists OSM as a product code.
