December 31: 2024 was a big year for Nintendo Switch 2 leaks and rumors, and 2025 is already looking to continue off of that with the latest leak that has supposedly revealed motherboard pictures.

Reddit user MHN1994 posted the shots without any context. Without any sort of information, that means it’s up to the internet to once again debate whether the latest leak is real or fake.

That being said, here’s a look at what was shared:

Just like with all rumors, nothing is guaranteed here. However, there’s talk of the Nintendo Switch 2 pictures being real as the motherboard lines up with the CPU found in previous shipment leaks.

Another interesting thing about this leak is that it won’t mean much for the average consumer. Things like the system itself, Joy-Con, and dock would be much more notable for fans. Offering up a look at the motherboard as opposed to other things related to the hardware could also point to the photos being real.

Speaking of the dock, we got an unconfirmed look at that a few days ago. You can check that out here.

January 2: This is not overly significant given that there’s been plenty of talk about this already, but there’s further proof that Nintendo Switch 2 is likely to use DLSS upscaling technology. A patent has been made public involving the ability to get games with 4K textures onto cartridges by reducing the file size. Again, this has already been rumored and the patent still doesn’t confirm things, but further points in that direction.
