Rumor: Xbox planning big Nintendo Switch 2 support – Halo, Flight Sim, more
Rumor has it that Xbox is gearing up for a significant amount of Nintendo Switch support, including its top-tier franchises like Halo.
NateDrake weighed in on what to expect during a new episode of the Nate the Hate podcast. It’s claimed that at some point, we’ll be seeing Halo: The Master Chief Collection as well as Flight Simulator on the new Nintendo console – as well as PS5.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is not a new package as it first debuted nearly a decade ago. But it’s a big release containing campaigns for Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST Campaign, and Halo 4. There’s also a huge multiplayer component with various modes, game types, and over 120 maps.
In general, it sounds like there’ll be a good amount of Microsoft support going forward for the new system. NateDrake says the company “will be porting and patching the current Switch lineup.” Grounded, Pentiment, and the Ori games, which were previously associated with Xbox, are already on the current Nintendo Switch. However, it also looks like they’ll be on Nintendo Switch 2 with 4K support. Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush could be possible as well – they’re already on PS5, so Nintendo Switch 2 versions make sense.
Xbox is also rumored to be coming out with a new version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. NateDrake believes that will be a multiplatform release as well, but did not mention Nintendo Switch 2 specifically.
