Sedap: A Culinary Adventure “Seasoning” 1.1 update announced, patch notes
A new version 1.1 “Seasoning” update has been announced for Sedap: A Culinary Adventure. On Nintendo Switch, the patch should go live in December.
There’s a lot of new stuff here along with various changes. Highlights include a Bestiary with new artwork, names, and detailed descriptions of the monsters, an in-game map to navigate levels more easily, an easier difficulty mode so more players can enjoy the experience, game balancing improvements like more teleports and adjustments to late-game levels, and four new charms and an increased charm weight limit.

Content Updates
- Dakila now has new dialogue lines when purchasing from the Shop.
- Merapi’s Radio is now accessible from the Camp — you may now yap with her!
Balancing
General
- [Single-player] [Standard Levels] Increased Combo Streak length (+10s)
- [Single-player] [Spirit Trial Levels] Increased Combo Streak length (+30s)
- Decreased the rate of food decay.
- Increased the critical rate boost at Combo Streak x7
- Decreased the difficulty of the fishing minigame when catching Squid
- Increased the Mountains’ Falling Steps waiting time before it falls (1s -> 1.25s)
- Increased the collider sizes of Falling Steps
Charms/Loadout
- Increased the carry-on weight limit of Charms (5 -> 7)
- Increased the weight cost of the damage Charms, Gilded Mask and Non La (+1)
- Decreased the Rusted Blade‘s charging speed buff (100% -> 42%)
- Revised the unlock levels for certain Weapons, Utensils, and Charms. Previously purchased equipment remains unaffected.
- In light of the newly-added Charms and balancing changes, the unlock levels for Charms in the Beach and Mountains have been adjusted.
- 2-star Spatula and Parang can now be unlocked earlier in the game, after beating 01-05.
- 3-star Ngao, Sibat, Celurit and Chopsticks can now be unlocked earlier in the game, after beating 03-02.
- In light of the newly-added Charms and balancing changes, the unlock levels for Charms in the Beach and Mountains have been adjusted.
Utensils
- Decreased charging time for Utensils. The only exception to this is the Frying Pan, to allow players to check the cast range before casting.
- Chopsticks
- 2-star now freezes all Order timers for 30 seconds
- 3-star charged ability now restores only 30 seconds to the Order time, but also freezes them for 30 seconds
- 2-star now freezes all Order timers for 30 seconds
- Cleaver
- Increased charged ability duration

- Bandito’s random drops upon defeat no longer include ingredients from auto-producing Kitchenware, namely Milk, Noodles, or Rice.
Kitchenware
- Oven
- Increased the speed of the cooking minigame
- Previously, the two required inputs for the cooking minigame could appear as a single block, which confused players. They are now clearly separated with a gap.
- Increased the speed of the cooking minigame
- Tumpeng Altar
- Slightly increased the hit window for the Wok and Pot cooking minigames.
Achievements
- [Online Multiplayer] Fixed an achievement, “I’ll Go If You Go”, not being correctly unlocked.
Aesthetic
- Shifted some visually-awkward environment assets and fixed floating assets in some levels.
- Increased the visual intensity of the stink cloud VFX on Kitchenware containing stinky food.
Controls
- (!!) Players can now dash at any time mid-animation to cancel the action. This makes combat and casting charged abilities feel less clunky.
Gameplay/Levels
- General layout, collider fixes, and spawner position tweaks to some later levels.
- Camera is now more zoomed out for bigger levels — 02-11, 02-12, 02-BOSS, 03-07, 03-09, and 03-BOSS.
- Added a Ginger Ghost spawn to 03-08.
- Improved the interaction range of the Repair Box in 03-BOSS.
Game Settings
- [Single-player] Players may now enable or disable auto-swapping between Som and Gon when entering and exiting the Kitchen in the game’s settings.
- Players may now enable or disable auto-skipping for already-seen dialogues and tutorials in the game’s settings.
- Players may now adjust the game’s Graphical Quality settings.
Localisation
- New language added — Ukrainian!
- Increased the size of Chinese and Japanese characters in the Loadout and Shop.
- General improvements to auto-sizing of text across languages, preventing overflows.
Quality-of-Life (QoL)
- (!!) Freshness indicators for Kitchenware have a new look, with icons and a clearer display. We’ve also extended having these Freshness indicators to food.
- In 01-04, the big tree trunk now fades-out when players move behind it.
Feedback
- [Single-player] Players now get visual and audio cues when swapping characters.
- New visual and audio cue whenever the Bandito appears in a level.
- New visual and audio cue whenever the Cleaver’s charged ability is about to time out.
- New visual cue to indicate the hit-ready moment for the Steamer’s cooking minigame.
- New audio cue to indicate the hit-ready moment for Fishing Cone, Steamer, and Supper Showdown minigames.
UI Updates
- General enhancements have been made to the game’s user interface.
- Adjusted the brightness and contrast of some flowers in the Makanomicon.
- The Spirit Trial phase progress bar at the bottom of the screen will now be hidden before the level begins.
- Added outlines to the Windomie cooking minigame so that its more visually consistent with the other Supper Showdown cooking minigames.
- While in a level, the current level number and chosen difficulty mode are displayed on the top right of the Pause menu.
Bug Fixes
- [Online Multiplayer] Fixed an issue where the client’s Freshness timings were being calculated incorrectly in some instances.
- [Online Multiplayer] Fixed an issue where both the host and client could flip through Tutorial Cards, causing a mismatch in input control.
- [Online Multiplayer] Fixed an issue where the client cannot see the Khaya Warrior’s sleeping animation.
- [Online Multiplayer] Fixed an issue where the client is unable to hotswap when first loading into the game.
- [Online Multiplayer] Fixed issue where players weren’t able to dynamically switch between controller & keyboard control in-game.
- [Online Multiplayer] Fixed an issue where clients could not hear the damage sound effect when taking cold damage in the Mountains.
- [Online Multiplayer] Fixed a visual issue where the client would see the wrong reviews upon level completion, and also see reviews upon Spirit Trial completion.

- [Equipment] Fixed an issue where stat pips for Weapons were inconsistent between the Shop and the Loadout menu.

- [Equipment] Fixed an issue where using Spatula’s charged attack will not heal players to maximum HP if a Charm that boosts HP is equipped.
- [Cooking] Fixed an issue where the cooking progress bar could move backwards when exiting cooking minigames at specific timings.
- [Cooking] Fixed an issue where, when using the Frying Pan’s charged ability, failing a cooking minigame in a dish could carry over to the next dish, causing cooking chances not to reset properly.
- [Cooking] Fixed an issue where interacting with Kitchenware as a dish animates out could trigger an invisible cooking minigame.
- [Cooking] Fixed an issue where the Order timer bar would not reflect correctly (turn blue) when the Chopstick’s charged ability is casted as the timer bar is flashing.
- [Levels] Fixed an issue where players can sometimes attack while on a Fallen Log, causing them to freeze.

- [Levels] Fixed an issue where the Repair Box would display an interaction prompt when the Boss Kitchenware was hit, even if a player was already in the midst of repairing it.
- [Levels] Fixed an issue where players could pass a level if they got a score of less than 1 star.
- [Monsters] Fixed an issue where a Tomatomancer or Kopimancer would continue firing projectiles even if its stunned from having its immunity broken.
- [SFX] Fixed an issue where Som’s charged ability SFX drags on even if the ability wasn’t casted.
- [SFX] Fixed an issue in 01-BOSS and 03-BOSS where SFX were not playing during the various cooking minigames.
- [SFX] Fixed an issue where the Oven’s slider SFX would continue playing if the player exits the minigame, or if the player misses the hit.
- [Visual] Fixed an issue where the “Loading…” text from the Splash Screen would overflow out of the screen in some languages.
- [Visual] Fixed an issue where changing languages in Options during Camera Flyover would cause text to sometimes overlap with the button prompt.
- [Visual] Fixed an issue where the environment would briefly look overexposed upon opening the Equipment menu in the Camp.
- [Visual] Fixed an issue in 01-SP where failing the second pour of the Bubble Tea cooking minigame causes the second pour’s fill colour to remain in the cup.
- [Visual] Fixed an issue in 01-BOSS where the progress bar fill direction was flipped for the Ambuyat Pot’s cooking minigame.
- [Visual] Fixed an issue where player footprints would appear outside of the Beach.
- [Visual] Fixed an issue where monster HP and Armour bars overlapped, causing all segmentation bars to display simultaneously.
