Smite 2 Switch

Smite 2 was announced earlier today, but there’s no Switch version in sight even though the previous game is on Nintendo’s console. It sounds like the team would like to have the sequel on there as well, but it’s not something Titan Forge Games deems possible currently.

In an interview with TechRadar, executive producer Alex Cantatore indicated that the company isn’t “sure that we’d be able to develop or deliver a really good experience” on Switch. His full comments are as follows:

“We’re concerned that currently, with the power level of Switch and the minimum specs that we’re targeting, we just aren’t sure that we’d be able to develop or deliver a really good experience to people playing on Switch currently.

Smite’s been everywhere we can possibly get it to run well, and I would expect that to continue with Smite 2, We’re just not sure we’d be able to get it running well on Switch 1, unfortunately.”

What about Smite 2 for the heavily rumored Switch 2, then? Cantatore added that Titan Forge is “willing to keep an open mind” and re-examine any future platforms that might become available. However, Cantatore pointed out he has no knowledge of a new Nintendo console.
