Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds for Nintendo Switch 2 has full game on cartridge, upgrade pack price confirmed

SEGA shared a bit of additional information about Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds for Nintendo Switch 2 today, including confirmation that the game will contain the entire experience on its cartridge.

This is one of the rare titles on the console to be doing this. Thus far, most third-party publishers have opted to use game-key cards. This has drawn ire from fans as they’re not truly physical – you’re basically getting a blank cartridge as the game needs to be downloaded from the internet.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version will be coming after the initial launch. If you decide to pick up the Nintendo Switch version first and then move over, that’ll be possible with the upgrade pack. SEGA confirms that it will cost $10. With that pack, content and progress will carry over to Nintendo Switch 2.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will initially launch on Nintendo Switch 2 digitally this holiday. The physical release will then follow in early 2026.
