Super Mario Bros. Wonder frame rate resolution

Super Mario Bros. Wonder just launched, and Digital Foundry is taking a closer look at the game from a technical perspective by covering aspects like frame rate and resolution. We have some other tidbits as well.

Here’s the full rundown:

– Mario and enemies use eye tracking
– Parallax scrolling has been ramped up significantly with multiple independent layers scrolling at different rates
– Engine derived from the module system tools and technology that also powered Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Splatoon 3
– Very clean image quality
– Native 1080p in docked mode
– Super Mario Bros. Wonder resolution is 720p in portable mode
– Dynamic resolution scaling used in select instances that brings it down to 864p
– This usually applies to the overworld 3D map
– Shadows projected from all dynamic objects
– Cartoony particle effect system
– Super Mario Bros. Wonder frame rate is almost a perfect 60 FPS
– Specific spots on the world map trigger a small dip in performance
