Switch update out now (version 19.0.1), patch notes

Posted on October 28, 2024 by in News, Switch

The latest firmware update for Switch just went live as Nintendo has started distribution of version 19.0.1.

This marks another update that won’t bring much excitement to system owners in terms of new features. However, it does fix a few bugs regarding GameCube controller compatibility and downloading software in sleep mode that were introduced in version 19.0.0 earlier in October.

Below are the official patch notes from Nintendo (machine translated until the official English notes are released):

Switch update version 19.0.1 patch notes

  • Fixed an issue where the Nintendo GameCube Controller Connection Tap and Nintendo GameCube Controller were not recognized when using the Nintendo GameCube Controller Connection Tap.
  • Fixed an issue where communication processes such as software downloads were not performed properly during sleep.

The last update for Switch, version 19.0.0, was released earlier this month on October 7. This appears to be a quick bug fix for issues introduced in 19.0.0 and not much else. For more coverage on version 19.0.1, you can check the official patch notes from Nintendo here.
