Splatoon is a huge hit, especially in Japan, and its unique musical style is definitely a big part of that. It’s not a big surprise then that the soundtrack, titled “Splatune”, will soon be available to buy in Japan. It will be released by famous publisher Kadokawa on October 21st for 3,456 yen.

Its two discs will include 61 songs – 37 music tracks, 10 jingle tracks and 14 sound effect tracks. It will also come with a booklet featuring comments from the development staff and additional reversible covers. Check those out in the gallery below.

Nintendo has readied new Splatoon commercials for North America. The ad covers the new content that’s being added to the game, as well as what’s to come. Take a look at it below.

Splatoon’s fourth Japanese Splatfest wrapped up a few hours ago. The results are in, and we now know that grasshoppers were victorious over ants.

Grasshoppers were victorious in both popularity (61 percent) and wins (53 percent). That led to an overall score of 273 points compared to the ants’ total of 227 points.

As is the case in North America, Splatoon’s fourth European Splatfest will be taking place next weekend. The battle will begin on August 29 at 6 PM BST, and has signing going up against dancing.

Splatoon’s latest map has now live. Players can begin battling in the newest addition to the map rotation, Flounder Heights.

Try as you might, you can’t ignore the apartment building in the middle of the map. It stands like a gigantic wall, looming over the battlefield like an ominous, erm, an ominous… apartment building, I guess.

Will you make your stand in a hail of ink on the rooftop? Will you try and sneak your way through the middle? Whatever your strategy, there’s no getting into enemy turf without getting past this monolith.

Nintendo is bringing out another new Splatoon map tomorrow. The new map, known as Flounder Heights, will be added at the following times:

Thursday – 7 PM PT
Thursday – 10 PM ET
Friday – 3 AM in the UK
Friday – 4 AM in Europe

Nintendo recently announced a Splatoon tournament for Japan. New information about the event, Splatoon Koshien, was delivered today.

The first part of Splatoon Koshien 2016 will begin at the following locations:

Fukuoka (September 13)
Sapporo (September 26)
Nagoya (October 11)
Osaka (November 3)
Miyagi (November 15)
Hiroshima (November 22)
Kagawa (December 13)
Tokyo (January 30)

Each one of these events will feature 4-on-4 matches (teams of four on both sides) in Turf War, with no weapon limitations. A lottery will be held to determine players if there is an overflow of participants at any of the local tournaments.

Each player who enters will be given a wristband. Additionally, the teams that are victorious at the different events will be able to compete in the Game Party Japan 2016 this coming January to determine a final winning group.
