Tales of Berseria Remastered receives full list of new features and improvements
Bandai Namco has come through with a huge list of improvements and changes planned for Tales of Berseria Remastered.
The new version of the RPG, which is slated for Nintendo Switch, was announced earlier this week. Like previous remasters for the series, the team is updating the game in a ton of different ways.
Below is the full list of improvements and changes for Tales of Berseria Remastered:
- Includes downloadable content from the original version (some content excluded): You can use it by activating it from Menu > Items > Extra.
- Grade Shop available from the start of the first playthrough: You can use the Grade Shop from the start of the first playthrough of the game with 11,200 Grade. Purchased items can be turned on/off from System > “Grade Shop.”
- Data transfer items such as levels cannot be purchased during the first playthrough.
- Some items cannot be turned on or off except at the start of the game.
- Added half price to Grade Shop purchases: A “Shop Purchase Price Half Price” option has been added to the Grade Shop, allowing you to purchase all items at half price.
- Items that are discounted based on the shop level will be half off the original price.
- Increased default movement speed: Increased character default movement speed by 1.2x.
- The same applies to rare boards.
- Simplifying the way items are obtained: When picking up an “obtained item” that has been dropped on the field, you can instantly obtain it by pressing a button.
- Added a function to return to the top of the main menu and shop menu: By pressing the corresponding button, you can instantly transition from any level to the menu (shop) top page.
- Added “New Objective” display: When the objective is updated as the game progresses, it will automatically be displayed on the screen.
- Added “NEW!” icon display: When you acquire or learn a new item, spell, skill, etc., or when new items arrive in the shop, a “NEW!” icon will appear in the menu and on the category tabs in the shop.
- Added a star destination icon and distance number to the field: A star icon will also be displayed in the field for destinations in the main story. The remaining distance to the destination will also be displayed.
- You can switch the display from Menu > System > Config > “Destination Marker Display.”
- Added “!” sub-event icon display to fields: Characters who will trigger a sub-episode when you talk to them will also have an exclamation mark (!) on the field.
- Added “Destination place name” display when moving to a field: When approaching the entrance to a field, a pop-up will display the name of the next field.
- Added display of each item on the minimap and location map: The minimap and location map will now display icons for treasure chests, Katz chests, and medicinal herbs from the start. Also, icon differences for treasure chests and medicinal herb” will be added for acquired and unacquired items.
- The functionality of Clairvoyant Demon Fusho (item that displays the remaining number of treasure chests) will remain the same as the original version.
- Changed the timing for obtaining “Denore Bottle ∞” and “Inoph Bottle ∞”: “Denore Bottle ∞” and “Inoph Bottle ∞” will be available when you first obtain “Denore Bottle” and “Inoph Bottle” in the original version. This will allow you to fast travel from the early stages of the game.
- Added autosave function: Auto-saves will occur at specific times, such as after moving to a new map or after an event has ended.
- Improved skip function: In addition to during events and long chats, you can now skip the black screen when staying at an inn by pressing the corresponding button.
- Some parts cannot be skipped due to production reasons.
- Added retry function when losing a normal battle: Even if you lose a normal battle and get a Game Over, you can rematch by selecting “Retry” from the Game Over menu.
- Added the ability to customize map control keys: You can customize the keys for not only battle but also map controls by going to Menu > System > “Control Settings.”
- Added enemy encounter switching function: Menu > System > Config > “Battle Encounter” has been added.
- If it is set to off, no battle will occur even if you come into contact with an enemy symbol in the field or dungeon.
- Event battles are not included.
- Adjusting the screen brightness: Menu > System > Config > “Brightness Adjustment” has been added.
- Screen brightness can be adjusted in 101 steps.
- Added automatic event skip function: Menu > System > Config > “Event Auto Skip” has been added.
- If on, events that have already been viewed will be automatically skipped.
- Long chats with optional playback are not included.
- Added subtitle display during battle: Menu > System > Config > “Show Subtitles During Battle” has been added.
- When on, subtitles will be displayed for post-battle dialogue and secret technique voiceovers.
- Added the ability to toggle icon display on the minimap and location map. Menu > System > Config > “Show Icons on Location Map” and “Show Icons on Minimap” have been added.
- When set to off, various icons such as destinations and treasure chests will be hidden on each map.
- Added the ability to fully unlock the location map: Menu > System > Config > “Location Map Display Release” has been added.
- When on, you can display maps of places you have not visited.
- Added audio language switching function: Added the “Audio Language” option to Menu > System > Config.
- You can now switch between Japanese and English audio.
- Added overall volume setting function: Menu > System > Config > “Overall Volume” has been added.
- This allows you to set the overall volume for BGM, SE, voice, and animated movies.
- Added battle BGM setting function: Menu > System > Config > “Battle BGM Settings” has been added.
- You can now enjoy the BGM played during battle using the songs you set in “Battle BGM Selection Settings.”
- You can set the following BGM from Menu > System > Config > “Battle BGM Selection Settings”.
- Original costume DLC BGM
- Battle BGM Pack BGM
- Only applicable to those who purchased the Deluxe Edition or Deluxe Upgrade Pack
- Sound effect adjustments: Some sound effects have been adjusted and polished.
- Correction of typos and omissions: Some typos and omissions in the text have been corrected.
- Some scenes have been changed from the original version: Some content of this product uses expressions from the original overseas version of Tales of Berseria, and some specifications differ from the original Japanese version of Tales of Berseria.
