Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition won’t have an extra download on Switch
Update: All’s well that ends well. Bandai Namco US has confirmed that there will be no extra download, so both North America and Europe are safe.
Apologies for the confusion, that is not the final box art for the Switch version and it WILL ship on a 16 GB cart, NO additional download will be required. Pre-Order AWAY!

Original: Earlier today, the Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Anniversary Bundle was revealed. Yet there’s one thing in particular that is causing Switch fans to worry a bit.
On the Switch boxart featured in the Anniversary Bundle beauty shot, there’s a banner that looks very similar to warnings we see about an additional required download:
Here’s the thing though – this banner is nowhere to be seen on the European version:
Adding to the confusion is this statement from Bandai Namco stating that the European version won’t have a required download:
The EU Switch version includes a 16 Gb cartridge, so there shouldn’t be any additional download 🙂

And the original North American boxart does not have any sort of download banner:
We’re likely looking at two possibilities here. Either Bandai Namco made a mistake with the North American promo image for the Anniversary Bundle, or there will only be a download for the North American version – which wouldn’t make much sense. We’ll keep an eye on the situation and will report back if any additional information comes to light.
