Tatsunoko vs. Capcom may not be a Wii-exclusive in the future, producer wants to make more Versus games

“[Tatsunoko vs Capcom] was designed to fully exploit the capabilities of the Wii. It was designed solely around the Wii,. So to transfer the game to the other two systems would require starting from scratch. If enough fans say, ‘We want this on PS3 and 360,’ we might do that. It was because of the fans we were able to bring this game to the states in the first place.” – Ryota Niitsuma, producer of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom

“Hopefully the fan reaction is good. If we have good sales hopefully we can think about more games in the Versus series. Personally speaking I would like to do more. I love the series. If possible I would mind seeing a sequel to [Marvel vs Capcom 2]. Of course it would probably be a whole new type of game if we did that. There are a lot of American game developers I wouldn’t mind working with and being able to combine Capcom characters with them.” – Ryota Niitsuma, producer of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom

I’m really hoping that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars does well. Capcom put a lot of effort into the title, which included sorting out licensing issues so that the game could be released in North America. Plus, if it sells well, it’s possible that more Versus titles will be created. So it’ll be a win for Capcom and a win for the fans.
