The Knightling cancelled on Nintendo Switch

The Knightling, which was previously announced for Nintendo Switch, has been cancelled on that system.

We’ve received the news from the game’s official X account. “This was a difficult decision for us and we understand this is disappointing for fans who have been anticipating the Switch release,” Saber Interactive and Twirlbound said. The Knightling has gone gold and is still launching for other platforms on August 28.

The statement didn’t provide any further information about The Knightling’s cancellation. We’d personally guess that the team ran up against technical constraints, but that hasn’t been confirmed. We’re hopeful that a release on Nintendo Switch 2 could eventually happen, but that remains to be seen.

The Knightling is an open world action-adventure game in which players take on the role of as an aspiring knight in search of their missing mentor. Some have compared it to The Legend of Zelda.
