This Is Fine: Maximum Cope confirmed for Switch
This Is Fine: Maximum Cope, a new game based on the famous meme, has been confirmed for Switch.
Numskull Games managed to secure funding for the project on Kickstarter during the campaign’s final hours. Fans helped to raise around $50,000, and there are plans to release it on Switch.
So how is the team turning the meme into an actual game? Numskull Games is planning it as an adventure platformer, and worries have manifested into a physical form. The title revolves around facing the perils of your subconscious.
Here’s an official overview, courtesy of Numbskull Games:
This little guy has been having a ruff time. It’s about time he started working through his issues in… This is Fine – Maximum Cope!
In This Is Fine – Maximum Cope your worries aren’t just in your head anymore, they’ve taken physical form, transforming your neighborhood into several surreal, anxiety-themed realms.
… Each featuring as exciting areas to explore and conquer, linked together in an interconnected map.
As you navigate these worlds, you’ll encounter a variety of enemies, each an embodiment of everyday worries. Fight off these enemies and traverse hazardous environments, with a toolbox of special abilities such as dog breath and heli-chops.
But the real challenge lies in facing the anxiety bosses themselves. Towering manifestation of your deepest fears. Defeat them like the anxiety conquering warrior you are and capture their essence in an anxiety box, Ghostbusters style.
Stuffing a boss into its anxiety box unlocks new abilities for your character, allowing you to explore new areas and uncover hidden secrets.
Do you have the courage to face the perils of your own subconscious? Will you ever finally enjoy another cup of coffee in peace?
