Canvas City

Today, Disc 2 Games unveiled Canvas City as its debut project. The game is now in development for Nintendo Switch.

Canvas City is a story-driven turn-based tactics RPG where movement is performance and battles are fought through style, not steel. Disc 2 Games is receiving support from Dredge developer Black Salt Games.

Here’s an official overview:

Players lead a crew of skaters and street artists rising up against an oppressive regime in a vibrant yet suppressed urban world. Combat blends traditional tactics depth with fluid, movement mechanics. Rails, ramps, and vertical terrain can be used mid-turn to chain tricks and attacks, earning Style Points to power up abilities.

From corporate-sponsored squads to chaotic performance artists, each opponent brings their own agenda, strategies, and style to the fight. Players will recruit and upgrade a crew from a roster of distinct characters, each with unique skills, tricks, and backstories. Master over 80 abilities, take on rival districts, and uncover the truth behind the city’s cultural crackdown.

Key Features

  • Uncover the truth behind Canvas City’s cultural crackdown in a campaign packed with rival crews, mysterious figures, and evolving characters.
  • Equip a crew with a wide range of combat powers – buffs, debuffs, zone control, mobility tricks, and more. Every character brings something different to the table.
  • 12 recruitable characters across the campaign. Each one has a distinct style, backstory, and ability choices to shape playstyle.
  • Bonus objectives to earn rare upgrades, unlock new items, and fill out the Garage – the crew’s hub for loadouts, backstories, and pre-mission planning.
  • Revisit levels to refine strategy, maximize scores, and earn the highest possible rank on every stage.
