Waifu Uncovered

Yesterday, Eastasiasoft and One-Hand-Free-Studios published Waifu Uncovered on the Switch eShop. While it’s still available in the west, the title has been removed from the Japanese store.

Waifu Uncovered is a shoot ’em up title at its core, but also involves undressing maidens “under threat of alien attack”. Needless to say, it’s intended for a mature audience and all content in this post is not safe for work.

Eastasiasoft has acknowledged,/b> that Waifu Uncovered “is temporarily unavailable” in Japan. The company added that it is “working on a fix to bring the game back as quickly as possible.” No further details were provided, but the issue seems to come down to nudity.

During a brief second of gameplay, one of the character’s breasts is fully exposed. This is the scene in which it can occur:

Normally there should be clothing or some sort of object preventing full exposure as pictured above.

We unfortunately can’t verify this as we don’t have the game ourselves, but there’s apparently an uncensored mode in the western version of Waifu Uncovered. However, for the Japanese release, it was apparently removed. Since there may be stricter rules in place as to what’s allowed in the country, a change is likely required before Waifu Uncovered can be allowed back on the Japanese eShop.
