Xenoblade Chronicles X how to change character appearance

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is (currently) the only Xenoblade game that lets you design and name your own custom character. There are tons of customization options to choose from, and some of them even let you recreate characters from the numbered Xenoblade titles. That being said, some fans might prefer to go with what’s considered the “canon” name and appearance for their character – in this case, the canon name is Cross and the default options are automatically highlighted when you create your character for the first time. But what if you make a mistake and want to change your character later on? You actually can do this once you clear Chapter 5.

Xenoblade X House of Cards Quest Location

In order to change your character’s appearance, the first thing you have to do is complete the Yardley’s Schemes quest. You can find it near the Outfitters Test Hangar skip travel point on the west end of New Los Angeles. It’s a fairly basic fetch quest, and all the materials you need will be marked on the map. Once done, you’ll need to take on the House of Cards mission, which you can only get at Mission Control. You might need to check the missions, close them, and then re-open the menu until House of Cards appears – the missions actually change every time you open that menu. For this mission, you need to find a hidden keycard. It’s on the same level of New Los Angeles as the Hangar, and it’s near some colorful crates. You can take a look at the image above to see where exactly on the map we found it. Once you have it, give Yardley his key card back. Then, follow him to the area underneath the administrative district (jump into the water) and you’ll be able to change your character’s gender and appearance. Unfortunately, you can’t change your name once it’s been set, so make sure it’s something you like.
