Perhaps surprising no one, Monolith Soft has confirmed its involvement with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as one of its primary developers.

Monolith Soft shared the news on Twitter. The company worked on game design, programming, and graphics.

Monolith Soft is known for its Xenoblade Chronicles series, but has contributed to many first-party Nintendo titles over the years. Of course, that includes The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Some other Nintendo games it helped develop include The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the entire Splatoon series, Pikmin 3, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

It should be noted that Monolith Soft has different branches. The Tokyo division is what worked on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Monolith Soft’s last original game, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, launched on Switch in July 2022 and the game just recently received its Future Redeemed DLC.
