Great deal! But I have both games already lol

  • Ektoras Kalderis

Sonic Forces sales are abysmal i guess. The deal is great though

  • You can always tell how quickly a game has bombed when it’s not only discounted this BF less than a month from release, but when they have to package it with what should be a game that sells less and has been out for almost a year just to get the game into people’s hands.

    • D-Omen

Puyo Puyo Tetris actually sold quite well, but yeah, it’s strange to think Sonic Forces might have sold less than it.

  • GoldenTriforce

    This raises two important questions:
    A. Sonic Forces is a hit?
    and
    B. Why?

    • Ektoras Kalderis

      A. No
      B. Tetris is

  • Rafael Bueno

    Sonic Forces?
    why not Mania? 😛

    • theFooFighter

      Because mania sold well

    • Sonic Forces is a flop…that’s why

      • Aline Piroutek

Man, I was playing the demo of Sonic Lost World here and I couldn’t have a lot of fun. I guess I’m spoiled with Colors.
The Sonic Forces footage looks quite cool/decent to me.

        • Really? Well seems colors was one of the best of the franchise, maybe people say that and forces was expecting something like this. The footage of forces was great, but the gameplay really flop the gameplay, I know this off topic lol but you would like join our Discord community, you seems a great person who will contribute with our chats, we have great people there, if you decline it’s ok, the link in my bio and always is good talk with ya.

          • Aline Piroutek

In december I’ll join it(too much tests/distractions, even NintendoEverything itself is a big distraction).

  • Don Zaloog

I guess they’re desperate to unload those Sonic Forces units.

  • Amethyst Gaze

    That was quick.

  • Tlink7

Gotta sell Sonic copies somehow 😛

  • Vinicius

Is it gonna be 2 cartridges in one box, or both games in one cartridge or one game and one code (like RE revelations)?

    • Apfel

the listing doesn’t say it’s a code, so probably a cart.
Sonic forces is, I think 7 GB, Puyo Puyo 1gb
fits possibly in an 8gb cart.

      • Vinicius

        Umh, neat.

    • Vadim Dzhantyurin

If you look closely, you see that “2 Hits Pack” is not on the box at all. Original Puyo Puyo box sticking out at the top. I think this would be just regular box copies of Sonic and Puyo Puyo bundled together in cardboard sleeve.

      • Vinicius

I thought that the box looked weird, but it never ocurred to me that it was because it was a paper sleeve.

  • Ohh boy…..

  • Padre

Forces flopped on Switch at least, it should have come out t least one month before Odyssey…

    • Locky Mavo

Actually, Sonic Forces flopped on every platform it was available on.

      • James Fox

It’s doing well on the eShop

        • Mario

And…now it’s not even on the top 20. Mania on the other hand…

  • awng782

Put Puyo and Tetris are two fun games.

Not sure what this “Sonic Forces” thing is though…

  • Mark

Remember when Metro.uk interviewed Sonic Team’s Takashi Iizuka, and they talked about how Sonic Mania’s reception would help decide their direction? It sounded as if they didn’t know how well Mania would do when something as awesome as Sonic Forces was coming. I wonder if this will point their future efforts in a better direction.

“But for Mania it’s kind of like a new approach. To target specifically 2D fans. So we don’t know whether it’ll be accepted positively in the market. We’ll find out after the game’s released, and we can figure out the direction of future titles after seeing the reaction.”

    • Mario

Ok. How can it NOT be accepted positively in the market? Were there seriously that many doubts about it succeeding?

      • Mark

I’m sure there were. Sonic Team seems to have their mindset stuck in the late 90’s/early aughts version of how to make a platformer – in that it has to be 3D or it’s garbage. Furthermore, Japan seems to eat up the 3D Sonics – three of the four Famitsu reviewers gave Sonic Unleashed a 9/10, and remember that Famitsu also scored Sonic Forces higher than Mania. No, I think they just believe the western market complaining about modern Sonic is just a vocal minority, who they occasionally pander to with Classic Sonic. I don’t think that they ever took the modern gaming market into consideration and the resurgence of 2D platformers in the past decade.

        • Mario

Do they really think the Western Market is smaller than the one Japan is a part of? Despite the fact that Sonic is clearly more popular in the West and Europe than in Japan?

  • Locky Mavo

I still to get Puyo Puyo Tetris, could Sonic Forces be considered a bonus in this deal?

  • hi v3.0

SEGA is being so desperate to sell more copies of Sonic Forces

  • IBO

well one of them is a great hit…

  • except only one of those is a hit 😉

  • Carlos

Hopefully this helps Sega see what people really want in a Sonic game.

  • Kid X

I thought they would have done a bundle with Sonic Forces and Sonic Mania and call it Sonic 2017.

  • pretty low threshold for a hit

  • Exy

Speaking of Puyo Puyo Tetris, I was called out by a scrub for the first time tonight. I didn’t know specific playstyles are lacking in respect, and of course it would be mine. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/331241c951f7df13ee327a7ce9b4c9415a628bc49573164d5e7debfa755f3841.png https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/de57f1f8bf7243556bd4f0e758cced7a783a41e9d360a48e24178c9801e57095.png

    • Fredy Rodriguez Ortega

      does puyopuyo tetris have chat?

      • Exy

This was from my Twitch channel.

        • Fredy Rodriguez Ortega

          wow wow.
It is even worse. what an amazing guy isnt it?

    • This is maddening. I don’t understand the people who think commas should be used anywhere for any reason.

      • ddh819

maybe that guy was actually rapping

    • ddh819

so how did the swap match go

      • Exy

I did play some Swap matches that night but this person was likely not one of them. They went as well as you would expect for someone who plays Tetris exclusively.

  • Snackster1001

This is the only way I would buy Sonic Forces. Well played, SEGA

    • R.Z.

What about the discount bin ?
Since it started under 30€ (no idea what the US price was, sorry), it could end up pretty low …

  • Brake

Interesting, a package with two great games: Puyo Puyo and Tetris.

    • nemo37

      lol

  • nemo37

Well…maybe Sonic Team will learned their lesson now and put greater emphasis on quality, gameplay, consistency and…oh…who am I kidding.

  • errantrazor

I do hope they offer them both at a discount or as a combo deal on the eShop. Been eyeing Puyo Puyo Tetris for some time now and this would nudge me over the top. I’d even be willing to take Sonic Forces with the deal just to be charitable.

  • Somnophore

If they’re going to bundle it with another game already, then surely it’d be better to get a physical release of mania and bundle it with that? I’d probably buy that. The bundle I mean. Mania I’d buy for sure.
