welcome to 2011. Nothing to be hyped about.

    • nemo37

For stationary console players yes. Not so much for us portable folks. I actually have the remake for Skyrim on my PS4 and PC. I sank about 10 hours into the PS4 version in the several years I have had it, but because the vast majority of my day involves me being out of the house (largely for work and University) it is difficult to get back to these games. So being able to actually play these games while I am out is pretty hype for me.

      • Fandangle

You could probably play Skyrim on a tablet it’s so ancient. They’ve been selling mini laptops for a while as well.

Also you’re kidding if you think a game like skyrim wont rapidly deplete the battery of the switch. Better bring your chargers around with you everywhere.

        • awesomeparadise3

This is far, far closer to the remaster, which isn’t too old. You can tell by the graphics. I’m guessing they’re not calling it that since it doesn’t have mod support. And we know the battery of any Switch game is a minimum of two and a half hours at max brightness. It probably won’t be max battery use anyway.

          • Fandangle

Except it’s got nothing on the remaster? The remaster has updated graphics this is literally just the same port last Gen consoles got.

Two and a half is one and a half less than the 3ds which was barely acceptable when it launched.

          • awesomeparadise3

The port has the remastered graphics. I’m not saying it’s as good as a high end PC but it is definitely the Remastered Edition, not the 2011 game.
It’s only missing official mod support, which will likely come unofficially anyway. I’ll give you that as a missing feature though. I assume official support is better. I don’t actually know the difference.
It also has exclusive motion controls, which is an improvement over other ports. And new Zelda gear.
The OG 3DS’ battery life is 3-5 hours. The Switch’s is 2.5 to 6 hours. It’s basically the same on average. You’re cherry picking your facts.

          • Fandangle

The only thing I’m really noticing is the look of the water. There is even more fog in the Switch edition than either of the PS3 or 360 editions. The only thing your comparison shows is how needless and idiotic the Enhanced edition was since it barely improves the graphics at all.

          • awesomeparadise3

What about the other things I said? You’re completely ignoring battery life for one.

          • Fandangle

Because your point on battery life is moot. Yeah, if you’re playin fluffin terraria it’ll last 6 hours but on any major release it’s not going to perform the same as terraria, meanwhile most 3DS games are fairly standardized and as far as battery life go. Not only that but the N3DS models HAVE replaceable batteries, something the switch doesn’t. The more intensive the game the shorter the battery life is.

If I’m cherry picking you’re presenting biased stats.

A mini laptop (I guess netbook) not really appeal to me since it is difficult to play as a handheld. Though I am going to purchase the next version of the GPD Win (which will hopefully have an Intel Core M), which should hopefully be powerful enough to run the PC version well (which is great because that version has mods).

I am not too worried about the battery life. I spend about 5 hours of my time in commute so I always take a USB-C charger with me for both my phone and Switch (along with a separate laptop charger as well). This game will most likely run at the Switch’s most power hungry portable mode (Which is also what Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, and Doom ran at) and I got around 3-4 hours of battery life in that mode with varying levels of brightness and wireless disabled, so I am not really concerned.

    • You mean that year when the Special Edition was nowhere near existing yet?

    • awesomeparadise3

Do you carry around a PlayStation and a TV knocking on doors talking about why Nintendo sucks?

      • Fandangle

Do you carry around your switch to talk about why it’s the greatest port station that’s ever been ma- oh wait, the battery just died. Just gimme a minute to recharge it and then I’ll show you how this is the greatest portable console that’s ever been made.

        • zelgadis greywords

just buy this and you can play for a full day or use it for you PKGO or other movile uses, not only the switch

          • Fandangle

Oh yeah I could totally spend 30 bucks on a battery or nintendo could just build a console with future proofing.

          • Nhat Anh Hoang

Yeah, like next portable from Sony

          • Fandangle

Sony is typically worse at future proofing their consoles. They actively remove features as updates go.

Why do you bring them up? Are you a console warring fanboy?

          • Nhat Anh Hoang

So Sony did it, but you complain at Nintendo sites? Why don’t you come to Sony sites to whine? I don’t see you there

LOL, you didn’t address my question. Are you desperate now? Maybe you should stop antagonizing people for not sharing your fanboyish opinion. I’m going to stop replying to you now. You’re clearly either underage, deranged, or just a bad troll.
