Generation III Pokemon spotted in Pokemon GO update data, new “Super Incubator” item

Niantic appears to be laying the groundwork for Generation III Pokemon in Pokemon GO. Fans have discovered a new update the company is preparing, and spotted 135 Pokemon in the APK metadata.

Note that this doesn’t necessarily indicate that Generation III is imminent. The Silph Road anticipates that it will take some time before any of these creatures show up. Niantic has yet to provide sound files for each species, and new moves could be added in as well. Both of these are needed before Generation III can go live.

In any case, these are all of the Pokemon listed:

Although this is my least favorite gen, I’m happy to see some new Pokemon coming soon.

    • Zack Fair

Gen 3 sucks lol 2nd gen best ever

      • Carlos

Yep. After coming out of Gen 2, Gen 3 was a huge disappointment. If it wasn’t for Gen 4, I may have quit. It does have a little to do with who I was able to play with during each Gen.

    • Aline Piroutek

Wow, are you 6th gen >>> 3rd gen?

      • Carlos

I actually had fond memories of Gen 6, and it got me into the community more.

        • Aline Piroutek

          People are weird.
          Well, taste is taste.

  • Blake Good

Too bad this doesn’t mean the 3rd gen games are coming to the Switch Virtual Console, along with the Red and Blue remakes, FireRed and LeafGreen since Gold and Silver are coming to the 3DS VC, in the wake of the gen 2 Pokemon. They should release each set of gen games on the VC, every time an older gen is brought to Pokemon Go.

    • Aline Piroutek

      Yeah, great for marketing.
