Hello Neighbor rated for Switch

Posted on December 28, 2017 by (@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop

Hello Neighbor has been classified for Switch by PEGI, suggesting that a release could be on the horizon – or at the very least tinyBuild is considering the possibility. A listing for the potential version was added to the database earlier this month.

Hello Neighbor is a stealth horror game, with the goal of sneaking into your neighbor’s house to figure out what horrible secrets he’s hiding in the basement. We’ve included some additional information and a trailer below.

Hello Neighbor is a stealth horror game about sneaking into your neighbor’s house to figure out what horrible secrets he’s hiding in the basement. You play against an advanced AI that learns from your every move. Really enjoying climbing through that backyard window? Expect a bear trap there. Sneaking through the front door? There’ll be cameras there soon. Trying to escape? The Neighbor will find a shortcut and catch you.

– Suspenseful horror gameplay that focuses on sneaking around your neighbor’s house
– Constantly evolving experience where the Neighbor’s AI counters your moves, and learns from what you do
– Sandbox-style gameplay with plenty of environmental interaction and physics

I would’ve been pretty excited for this, except that it’s already been released and reviewed on PC. Reviewed very, very poorly.

The one positive thing is that this continues to support that Indies trying to find a good audience are going straight from PC to Switch. Pretty happy about that.

Eurogamer had a really interesting review for it. Very much seemed like they enjoyed it despite being very clunky and buggy.

I would very much like to see a Switch release that irons out some of these flaws. Could be a real diamond in the rough.

I do agree with your point about indies on Switch. I recall this game being a fairly big deal when it was first shown for Xbox.

A couple days ago, a random 10 year old boy told me that this game is coming to the Switch. I didn’t believe him, because I haven’t read such reports or rumors online. Did I just met a psychic prodigy?

Off topic real quick: anyone here had Switch warping from overheating lately?
