Mods not currently planned for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Switch

Posted on September 13, 2017 by (@NE_Brian) in News, Switch

When The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition came to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last year, Bethesda introduced mods. The feature essentially lets players mess around with the game in ways that aren’t normally possible.

Now The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is making its way to Switch this holiday. Will we be seeing any mod support? Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it. Bethesda’s Pete Hines told USgamer that mods aren’t planned for Switch “at this time.”

  • I had a feeling that was the case and I don’t really mind that much. I know others may get upset of course.

Aw, even Minecraft had skin sets.

Minecraft doesn’t allow you to convert the game into a sex simulator

      …I HOPE

People would lose their minds if mods officially came to a Nintendo system, but this was expected.

I don’t think this surprised anybody xD

Don’t worry, Todd, I don’t mind not having mods!

…because I’d sooner pay for someone to punch me in the face than pay for your “Creation Club”.

Not at this time != never going to happen

After their garbage paid mods creation club debacle, I’m glad.

    Not at all surprised.

    Keyword: at this time

I prefer them to stay away, you have to pay for the same things you have for free on pc….

You’re getting the things mixed up. Skyrim Special Edition uses Bethesda(dot)net which has free mods that’re actually just the same ones from PC remade for the XboxOne.

      • Mr Objection

They used mods made by others on pc, but because their owe the game, they can do that, they have the rights

”at this time.”. This means …. maybe later . It all depends how well Skytim will sell i guess

  • CynicalAtheist

    This really gets my goad.
In addition to not having mods come to SkyRim Switch, we are getting incomplete games because of cartridge size.
Why couldn’t the Switch have 2 screens, BluRay support, glasses-less 3D screen and 4K capability?
I mean it would have a 5 second battery life but at least we would have those options?

So not only are they charging full price for this, but they aren’t even including a feature that the PS4 and Xbox One versions have despite those versions being cheaper.

You know what? Fine. If this is what it takes for third-parties to finally stick around on a Nintendo console, then so be it.
