Nintendo will be promoting Switch in a big way at Kansai International Airport. On Friday, Nintendo will have a special area where visitors can try out Switch, 3DS, and mobile games. A Mario statue will also be on hand where people can take pictures. If that wasn’t enough, Mario advertising and images will be plastered throughout the airport.

poor Daisy, even Pauline would be in a main game…

Nintendo is upping their game but they need to fix their stock issue.

Why would westerners care about this airport?

Maybe because there are 90 thousand Americans alone living in Japan who use this airport? Or I don’t know, because 13 million people pass through that airport every year?

  • When SSB5 comes out, they should team up with United Airlines.

Speaking of sponsorships, I always thought the Smash Burger restaurants should partner with Nintendo and have multiple screens projecting some local Super Smash Bros. play. I guess their theme and layout might not quite fit as well as like a sports bar kind of atmosphere (which already has TVs everywhere), but it’d be pretty cool nonetheless 🙂

This is another example of Nintendo doing a good job marketing the Switch and keeping the interest in the console high. Plus having playable demos there is brilliant.

What better to way to pass some waiting/layover time in the airport than with some Switch? Seems like a good way to advertise

I went overseas last week. Not only did I play my Switch during layover time, I played it on the plane as well.

There were so many times I needed to pass the time, but I had finished all my 3DS games and didn’t bother bringing my Wii U because it’s not as portable. The Switch is a lifesaver.
