No DuckTales Remastered for 3DS, won’t include original game, no early demo
A bit of bad news for those who were hoping that Capcom would bring the newly announced DuckTales Remastered to one of the major portable gaming systems: releases are only planned for consoles. Capcom’s Christian Svensson has confirmed that the digital download won’t be coming to the 3DS or PlayStation Vita.
Svensson wrote on the company’s official forums:
Sorry but we could only do “so many” platforms and portable formats were not in the frame this time around.
Svensson also addressed the possibility of including the original DuckTales in the Remastered version. Unfortunately, this won’t be happening since the developers “made far too many changes”, which would make it difficult for there to be “an easy switch between the new version and the original”.
Unfortunately a straight port of the original is not in the cards. We’ve made far too many changes, many of which we’ll detail in the weeks leading up to launch, for it to be an easy switch between the new version and the original (you’ll note everything is wide screen for example… and they’re not just stretched, it’s all redone from scratch).
Last but not least, Svensson said that Capcom won’t be releasing an early demo for DuckTales Remastered:
It’s playable at Pax East right now, but no plans for any advance demos at the moment.
DuckTales Remastered is coming to the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and Wii U eShop. The game will launch this summer.
