Posted on November 15, 2017 by (@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developer Bluehole is working on a new IP that will be released for Switch, the company has revealed.

Little information has been shared thus far. We do know that the IP is targeted towards the Asian market in particular. Development is said to be in the early stages.

Bluehole found huge success with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds this year. The studio has also created Tera and the upcoming MMORPG Ascent: Infinite Realm.

Meh. They seem to only to multiplayer stuff.

    • Same as Rocket League, won’t be cool for Switch have more multiplayer third games with cross system.

      this looks awesome!

Interesting. I wonder if Asian means general Asia or if that includes Japan? Switch is clearly the biggest seller in Japan right now but this could also be evidence of a larger push by Nintendo in Asia.

Also I had no idea they were capable of developing more than PUBG. Clearly in terms of finances they are very large, but I still was under the assumption that they were an indie sized team.

Should have read “The studio has also created Tera and the upcoming MMORPG Ascent: Infinite Realm.” That would have made me realize that they were a larger company lol.

        500+ employee company.

        • GoldenTriforce

Oh wow thats much more than I thought.

      • I think PUBG has a good chance to make it to the Switch since Nintendo allows cross platform play to Xbox One and PC owners. I’m not saying it’s a guarantee but it could happen

        • Dylan W

That would be a huge win for Nintendo. PUBG has a huge player base and having access to that on the go with cross-platform play would be pretty sweet. 😉

PUBG runs very bad because it is super bad optimized in windows, so It will need a big work

  • Blanco8x8

I would play Fortnite: Battle Royale on Switch.

  • Rafael Bueno

    No.

    • More games on the Switch better! Third parties are always good for the system.

      • Rafael Bueno

that is a good thing for sure but i think this developer is kind of overrated

        • Still is a third party game can help the sales on the Switch even if you don’t like hundreed/milliosns will.

        • Dumdum

“this developer is kind of overrated” – You’re not wrong. Pretty arrogant to boot (talking about Bluehole, not Player Unknown himself).

This game is what PC Master Race people were trying to tell us about… Nintendo BTFO

  • Cool!

    “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developer”

Fortnite will eat up PUBG’s player base in time. Good for Bluehole that they launched when they did.
