Reggie wants to see GameCube titles on the Wii U VC, but can’t confirm anything

On Wii, the Virtual Console ran through the N64 era. Now that we’re entering a new generation, might we see GameCube games come to the VC service on the upcoming console?
Nintendo of America president would like to see it happen. However, he can’t confirm that Nintendo has any plans in the works to bring GameCube titles to the service.
“That is a great question. And personally I would love for that to happen, but we have nothing to announce right now.”
The Wii U won’t be compatible with GameCube discs. So the only way you’d be able to play classics such as Wind Waker on the system is through Virtual Console releases.
