Sonic Generations was 9GB on PC, so either Sonic Forces is a smaller game overall or they’ve got an amazing compression technique.

It’s because the Switch version has lower textures. The PS4/XB1 versions are more than 16GB

Super Mario Odyssey is a bigger game than Sonic Forces and it’s only 5.7GB

and it has beautiful textures too.

But it has aliasing everywhere and the textures aren’t great. Nintendo sacrifices a lot of details in order to achieve a smaller size. Don’t get me wrong, the game looks great, but third parties usually don’t care about compression.

Depends on what you mean by bigger game. Sonic forces might now be as long, but you have to remember a few things. Sonic might not let you go into the background, but it has extremely detailed and active backgrounds while most of Mario is basic textures and outside the play area isn’t detailed really lol. Next is how the story plays out. Seems everything is in engine and in game as far as it looks for Mario, CGI plays a part in sonic, which is user up space. Last key thing, the distance ran in one stage of sonic is more than running the whole surrounding area of a stage in Mario while being very detailed. Despite not being able to see the detailed parts in normal play. Look at unleashed for example. Alot of detail all over that you’ll never notice unless you stop to look

  • good i got myself physical. my SD card need immediate upgrade but saddly, low on cash :/

I wonder which version people with several system are going to pick. For me, it’s hard to choose between better performance and portability.

Even the Sonic fanbase isn’t too impressed with Forces so that’s not good. I’m with them on this.

It has to be ps4 (my case pro). I have switch, I might buy that Ver. Down the Rd, but after playing generations on ps3 and enjoying it, then going to pc at 60fps and seeing how much better a sonic game at 60fps is, I can’t really go back much

Sonic Forces is looking like a meh game.
