2021 approval rates for Nintendo directors up for re-election, Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri officially on board
Nintendo held its 81st Annual General Meeting of Shareholders this week and a number of topics were put to vote. This includes the elections of five returning directors and one new one.
For returning directors, their approval rates are as follows:
– Shuntaro Furukawa – 96.86%
– Shigeru Miyamoto – 97.88%
– Shinya Takahashi – 97.88%
– Ko Shiota – 97.57%
– Satoru Shibata – 97.85%
To compare, below were the approval ratings from last year:
– Shuntaro Furukawa – 95.47%
– Shigeru Miyamoto – 98.32%
– Shinya Takahashi – 98.34%
– Ko Shiota – 98.34%
– Satoru Shibata – 98.34%
Finally, Chris Meledandri from Illumination was officially approved as an outside director with a vote of 99.31 percent. Meledandri was first nominated for the role back in March. As many fans know, Nintendo teamed up with Illumination on the upcoming Super Mario movie.
