New Nintendo 3DS is region-locked

Just like its predecessors, the New 3DS will be region-locked. Nintendo confirmed to GameSpot that games released across Japan, Europe, and North America will only be playable in those territories. If you purchase a Japanese New 3DS in October, keep in mind that it will only play Japanese games.
