Unused coins, references to unused outfits found in Super Mario Odyssey
Random Talking Bush, someone known for picking apart games, has started digging through the files and code for Super Mario Odyssey. Among what was discovered, the game appears to have cut / unused content.
The first interesting find concerns unused 2D coins:
And unused 2D coins for the Metro Kingdom, apparently, which only come in "collected" form (CoinCollectEmpty2D_E), and don't have a colourized counterpart. pic.twitter.com/bRrMAXmG1V

Super Mario Odyssey also seems to have references to unused outfits:
Something I didn't notice earlier: For the 64, Metal, Gold and Skeleton outfits in Mario Odyssey, there's a bunch of "fix" scripts for the hat positions. However, there's a bunch that don't correspond with anything in-game! pic.twitter.com/NojDlZ7QBa

(Cont'd) In particular, ArmorWestern, Batter, CapCostume, Conductor, Link, Racer, Santa, Satellite, Scholar and Zombie. Hakama and Underwear are odd additions too since there's no hats for those and they have different position/scale values that don't match the default hat's.

Nope, those are all accounted for already. "Shopman" is the Employee outfit, "Bone" is the skeleton suit, and Mechanic is, well, the Mechanic uniform.

"New3DS" is the Fashionable suit in-game. And might as well, for the other names — Aloha = Resort, Armor = Samurai, Cook = Chef, Gunman = Cowboy, Maker = Builder, Pilot = Aviator, PrimitiveMan = Caveman, Shopman = Employee, TailCoat = Black Tuxedo and Suit = Black Suit.

It’s unclear if any of these outfits will be used in the future. However, Nintendo has indicated that more costumes will be added in the future, so the possibility is there.
