US GameStop customers will be required to wear masks in store starting this month
Those looking to do business at GameStop locations across the United States will soon be required to wear a mask. Starting July 27, the retailer will be requiring a face covering before entering stores to help avoid the spread of the coronavirus. People with “concerns, or health-related issues in wearing a face covering” are advised to shop at GameStop online.
GameStop CEO George Sherman said in a statement:
“We believe this is the right thing to do to ensure the heath, safety and well-being of our associates and customers from the growing spread of COVID-19. Providing a safe environment in our stores for all customers and store associates continues to be our top priority and wearing a face covering is a simple step every one of us can take to ensure the safety of others in our stores.”
GameStop closed its stores in the United States back in mid-March. At the time, only curbside pickup and delivery were permitted. The retailer later began reopening stores in late April.
