Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D to be temporarily pulled from the 3DS eShop
Konami has announced that it will be temporarily removing Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D from the 3DS eShop. The move will go into effect on November 8.
Explaining the removal, Konami said it is in the process of “renewing the licenses for select historical archive footage used in-game”. To reiterate, this is a temporary change. However, it is not currently unclear when the game will be available for purchase again.
“We sincerely ask for your patience and understanding as we work towards making these products available for purchase once again,” Konami said. The company also thanked thanks for their support of the Metal Gear series.
If you already own Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D, you should be able to download the title at any point without any issues. All physical copies are also unaffected.
Metal Gear hasn’t had too big of a presence on Nintendo platforms – especially when it comes to the Solid games. However, Konami did release Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D on 3DS back in 2012. We also saw Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes for GameCube in 2004.
We’ll let you know when Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D is made available for purchase once again.
