Grafaiai revealed for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet

Grafaiai will be appearing as a new creature in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, The Pokemon Company revealed today.
Grafaiai was actually teased this week via social media. The Pokemon Company has been sharing a few snapshots mentioning “strange markings taken by a photographer from Paldea.” The creature’s name was later confirmed, but a pair of new videos today provide a first look.
Grafaiai is said to be a moody Pokemon with a fastidious disposition. It can usually be found alone rather than in packs, and is often caught up in territorial struggles with other creatures. With its poisonous saliva, which changes color depending on what it eats, it can attack foes by spitting or slashing at them after coating its claws with the saliva.
Grafaiai is nocturnal. After the sun sets, it licks its hands and fingers to cover them in poison and uses them to draw patterns on the trees in its territory. This poison can paralyze Bug Pokemon, which are drawn to the saliva’s sweet, fragrant scent.
The category for Grafaiai is Toxic Monkey Pokemon. Its type is Poison Normal, its height is 2’4″ (0.7 m), it weighs 60 lbs. (27.2 kg), and has Unburden / Poison Touch as its Ability.
