Rumor: More Switch 2 tidbits surface
Spanish outlet Vandal published the latest report on Switch 2 today and claims to have a few more details about the device. The site’s information was apparently shared by accessory manufacturers.
Valdal first claims that the controllers will be attached magnetically. That’s in contrast to the current Switch which uses a rail system. As of now, it’s unclear if Joy-Con controllers will be compatible with the new system.
We have another tidbit about controllers as well. Vandal does say that the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller should be compatible.
While no one can say for certain how big Switch 2 will actually be, it’ll apparently be a little bigger than current Switch models. However, don’t expect the size to be the same as a Steam Deck.
Previous reports indicated that Switch 2 was internally delayed to early 2025 after it was originally on track for this year. Vandal backs this up as well and its sources maintain the fact that Nintendo is looking to bolster the launch lineup.
Just like with all rumors, you should take today’s report with a grain of salt. However, it’s worth noting that Vandal published an article about the Switch OLED before it was announced in 2021 with some details that were spot on such as a new stand and inclusion of an ethernet port.
