Bandai Namco on decision to remaster Tales of Graces F and more

Yuki Ishikawa, the producer of Tales of Graces F Remastered, has spoken about the decision to bring back the RPG.

Ishikawa indicated that there’s been fan interest in seeing it happen. We also learn that it’s been in the works for the past 2-3 years.

Ishikawa stated:

“It’s not that there’s a single, firm reason as to why, but more due to the ongoing support from the Tales of series fans. It’s been 15 years since the original was released, and I think it’s due to the continual support of fans for Graces that this project was possible. We’d been working on it in parallel with Tales of Arise; Beyond the Dawn for the last 2-3 years. When we make a remaster we can do things such as adding features; for example we increased the original 4 languages options to 10, so it did take some time.”

Tales of Graces F seems to be just the start of Bandai Namco’s plans for remastering other games in the series. When asked if there are plans for additional titles, Ishikawa said:

“Yes. I can’t say exactly which titles, but projects are being worked on. In the same manner as Graces F Remaster, we plan to deliver games that have additional features and are easier to play and enjoy. Please look forward to the announcements.”

Finally, Ishikawa was asked a question related to the Switch version of Tales of Symphonia Remaster, which received mixed feedback for various reasons, including due to the fact that it was buggy at launch. For Tales of Graces f Remastered though, he seems confident that everything will turn out well.

There were lots of vocal fans regarding the previous game Tales of Symphonia Remastered. I imagine many players are interested in being able to play Graces F on the go with the Nintendo Switch, what can you say in relation to that?

Ishikawa: Making remasters can be quite challenging even from the start when we analyze the original data, but this project proceeded relatively smoothly and we have produced a product that can be played with confidence.

Tales of Graces f Remastered will be out for Switch on January 17, 2025. There are a lot of improvements planned, all of which you can learn about here.
