Pokemon GO Gigantamax

Gigantamax, a feature that originally appeared in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield on Switch, is now heading to Pokemon GO.

Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise are first up in the mobile game. In order to take them down, players who have at least one Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokemon will need to participate in groups of 10 to 40 people in Max Battles, which are located at Power Spots throughout the map. Only then can the formidable Power Spot Bosses be caught. If players are lucky enough, a Shiny version will appear. Fans will be happy to hear that series composer Junichi Masuda arranged new music inspired by Pokemon Sword and Shield.

For those unaware, Gigantamaxing is like Dynamaxing that’s limited to certain Pokemon. These creatures have a different appearance along with the usual effects observed on Dynamax Pokemon. Candy and Max Particles can be used to unlock Max Moves and level them up for stronger effects.

Gigantamax Pokemon are able to learn up to three Max Moves: a unique attack, Max Spirit, and Max Guard. Also, their first Max Move is a powerful G-Max Move. Gigantamax Pokemon feature a unique G-Max Move, which may not be the same type as its Fast Attack.

A trailer showing off Gigantamax can be found below.
