Ever17, Never 7 remasters announced for Nintendo Switch
Ever17: The Out of Infinity and Never 7: The End of Infinity have just been announced for Nintendo Switch. Both are due out on March 6, 2025 in Japan, and a Double Pack will be available. Note that while only a Japanese release is confirmed, English will be among the supported languages.
Ever17: The Out of Infinity and Never 7: The End of Infinity are a pair of visual novels in the Infinity series. They first launched in 2002 and 2000 respectively. Kotaro Uchikoshi, known for his work on the Zero Escape and AI: The Somnium Files franchises, wrote both entries.
The Nintendo Switch versions will both be in full HD. Ever17 was previously remade in 3D for the Xbox 360, but this edition will be in 2D. However, it’ll come with additional costumes from the remake, and the opening movie has been newly created in 2D. The new elements from the remake’s scenario will also be included.
Below are rough overviews of both titles:
Ever17
Spring 2017. Takeru Kuranari, an ordinary college student, visits the underwater theme park “Remiyu”. Takeru is caught up in an accident that occurs there and is trapped in Remiyu. One of the people left behind, the system operator “Sora”, tells him how much time remains until Remiyu collapses due to water pressure. About 170 hours and 17 minutes. With no hope of rescue, Takeru wanders around Remiyu with the mysterious girl “Tsugumi” and guide “Yu” in search of a way to escape to the surface. A theme park of dreams and hopes sunk to the bottom of the blue and mysterious sea. Are there still dreams and hopes left there? Or are there still other mysteries? The answer is known to “you”.
Never17
On the morning of April 1, 2019, the protagonist “Makoto Ishihara” had the worst possible awakening. It was… “A dream in which a girl died a tragic death right before my eyes.” The protagonist had come to a remote island in the South Seas for a seminar training camp. The training camp was supposed to end safely in the happiness of ordinary life… or so it was. The fateful day… April 6th. On that day, “anxiety” turned into “despair,” and “premonition” turned into “tragedy.” The morning of the seventh day, which will never come. When tragedy is averted by relying on the remaining memories, “all the mysteries” are revealed. Put an end to the eternal sadness. A sci-fi suspense romance adventure in which various feelings become intricately intertwined as you aim to escape from a closed time.
