Rumor: First look at the Nintendo Switch 2 dock
X user NextHandheld has shared a photo that could give us a first look at the dock for Nintendo Switch 2.
NextHandheld first posted a picture the main unit yesterday. That initially set off debate as to whether or not it was real, and if it was AI generated. Even so, it wasn’t entirely new as there have been various unconfirmed photo leaks previously from third-party accessory makers.
Below is that photo – which does not have the Joy-Con attached:

As mentioned above, there was initially discussion as to whether NextHandheld’s photos were AI generated and technically that debate has not been fully settled. In a world in which fake leaks are only becoming more believable, maintaining some skepticism certainly makes sense. However, the consensus has now shifted somewhat thanks to the additional picture that has been shared of the dock (this Reddit thread brings up reasons why it seems real for example). It’s still possible that AI was used in the photos – perhaps for the backgrounds for identity protection. We always point this out, but remember that the only time you can truly believe something is when Nintendo makes it official.
It’s currently unclear how NextHandheld would manage to get access to the device so early – assuming the photos can be trusted. However, you may recall that they recently provided leaked details about Nintendo Switch 2, and this person seemed believable enough that reputable outlets such as The Verge ran with the story.
We’ll ask you guys – do you think this is real or fake? Let us know in the comments.
