Tetris 99 reveals 45th Maximus Cup with Donkey Kong Country Returns HD theme

Nintendo has announced a 45th Maximus Cup for Tetris 99 and players will have the chance to earn a new theme based on Donkey Kong Country Returns HD.

If you are a Nintendo Switch Online member, you’ll be able to play the upcoming event. When it’s running, play the game’s online mode to earn points. Points are provided based on your placement in the match. If you finish higher, you’ll earn more. The new Donkey Kong Country Returns HD theme for Tetris 99 is given out after reaching 100 points. It features background art, music, and Tetrimino designs inspired by the platformer.

The Tetris 99 45th Maximus Cup will be held between February 14 and February 18. A trailer should be available soon, and we’ll add it in once it’s live.
