Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders at a historic level at big French retailer, more

We don’t have specific date as of now for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders, but new information from one of France’s biggest retailers has provided interesting insight. New information was shared as part of an interview with Frandroid.

First, regarding hardware, we’re hearing that hardware sales are at a historical level. Unsurprisingly, the Mario Kart World bundle is extremely popular. Consumers can save a decent amount of cash by picking up that package as opposed to purchasing the system and game separately.

It’s unclear just how much stock will be available for launch. However, Fnac seems to indicate that the situation is good for the time being.

Although hardware pre-orders are strong, software sales are lagging behind. However, it seems Fnac is expecting this to ramp up as launch approaches. Accessories are experiencing a high level of pre-orders, especially the camera.

We have a couple of other tidbits. There’s a higher average spent by consumer, and it’s closer to core gamers than Nintendo’s more mainstream audience. Fnac expects that pricing won’t be an issue for that demographic.
