Tetris 99 2.5.0 update out now, patch notes

Nintendo has released the version 2.5.0 update for Tetris 99. The main thing seems to be making past event themes exchangeable for tickets.

Here’s the official notice about today’s update from Nintendo:

Tetris 99 update version 2.5.0 patch notes

You can now exchange some of your game tickets for event themes (Special Themes) using the Customize menu. Each event theme is worth 30 tickets.
In the “Custom Themes” section of “Customization,” we have made some of the event themes (special themes) that have been released so far available to exchange for in-game tickets. Each event theme can be exchanged for 30 tickets.

Following the update, tickets now exchangeable for event themes are from Super Mario All-Stars, Bowser’s Fury, Miitopia, Mario Golf: Super Rush, Monster Hunter Rise, Metroid Dread, and WarioWare: Move It.

Nintendo has kept supporting Tetris 99 through in game events since its 2019 launch, but two months ago marked the game’s first software update in years. With another update so close to the last, it shows promise for the future of Tetris 99.
