Smash Bros. Ultimate and Nintendo Switch Sports have Switch 2 issues, but will be patched
With Nintendo rolling out Switch 2, the company has confirmed that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Nintendo Switch Sports have issues on the new console. However, plans are already in place for patches.
For Smash Bros. Ultimate, an online match may end right away if a Switch 1 and Switch 2 player start a match with one person using a Mii Fighter, so it’s advised to avoid using the character currently. Additionally, when creating or modifying a Mii Fighter and saving it, the thumbnail image may not save correctly (saving again may solve this issue).
For Nintendo Switch Sports, it seems that there’s currently just a single issue. Currently the frame rate lowers to 30 FPS when playing online soccer matches. This is intended to run at 60 FPS.
Again, updates for both games are on the way. We’ll give you a heads up when the patches roll out with their proper fixes.
Nintendo has been busy updating a variety of Switch games in preparation for Switch 2. Many patch improvements went live yesterday, which we covered in full here. A number of updates also went out to enhance compatibility – see the list here.
