JSAUX Split Protective Case review Switch 2

We’ve tested out yet another console grip for Nintendo Switch 2, and this time it’s the JSAUX Split Protective Case. Compared to some of the other options on the market, this case is on the cheaper side – but only in terms of price and not necessarily in terms of design.

From what we’ve seen, the JSAUX grip is one of the more popular ones, alongside the Savage Raven lineup. Unlike the Savage Raven products, however, you can actually remove the Joy-Cons from the Switch 2 console without taking the whole case apart.

If you get the full package, the JSAUX grip comes with a few things: a back plate for Nintendo Switch 2, grips for the Joy-Con, and also a front case that protects the system’s screen when it’s not in use or when you throw it into a bag or backpack. The face cover also includes storage for game cards, which is a handy little bonus. Starting with the grip itself, it feels pretty good to hold – the texture of the back of the Joy-Con grip itself is made of an anti-slip material, so it’s easy to use for long periods of time. In fact, the grips are nearly perfect – the fit with the ZL and ZR buttons might be a tiny bit snug, but this appears to be only a minor issue and not necessarily a big problem in the long run.

The JSAUX grip also claims to be dockable, and this is true for the most part, though the fit seems kind of tight with the back plate on. Speaking of which, we had some trouble getting the front case to clip onto the back plate because it had problems fully snapping onto the console. That may have just been the unit we received, though. Minor issue overall and definitely not a big deal. The JSAUX case also leaves Nintendo Switch 2’s kickstand intact, so you can still use it like normal.

To recap, then: the JSAUX case is a great option for anyone still trying to decide which case to get for their Nintendo Switch 2. The fit might be snug if you’re trying to dock the console, plus the back plate can be a bit finicky, but for the most part everything works just fine here. You can get the entire bundle (the grips, the back plate, and the front cover) on the official JSAUX website for $30 at the moment, which is a pretty decent deal for all three at once (and especially considering some other Nintendo Switch 2 case options go for upwards of $60). Most importantly, the JSAUX grip is comfortable to use for long periods of time, and that’s what matters most when you’re trying to pick out one specific case for your system. There are tons of options out there right now, and that number will only increase over time.
