Warframe will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 [update: gameplay, release window]
September 10: Warframe is planned for release on Nintendo Switch 2. That’s according to Steve Sinclair, CEO of Digital Extremes.
Sinclair was joined by creative director Rebecca Ford in a recent community video. Interestingly, the topic of Nintendo Switch 2 came up. It was confirmed that the team now has Nintendo Switch 2 development kits.
Speaking in that video, Sinclair said:
“We are working on Switch 2 stuff by the way. I don’t think that needs to be secret anymore. … We finally have – thanks to our friends at Nintendo, we are on it, and there’s a lot of amazing things that are happening. … It is a very impressive piece of kit. Our tech leads are working on and are very excited about it.”
Ford also indicated that the team will be looking into capturing some gameplay footage of Warframe on Nintendo Switch 2. It may not be long until we see this version in action.
Of course, Warframe is already available on Nintendo Switch, and is a pretty impressive port all things considered. Fans can also play this version on Nintendo Switch 2 via backwards compatibility while they wait for a native release.
