Aonuma answers questions about Wind Waker HD and A Link Between Worlds

Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma answered a few fan questions on the series’ official Facebook page a few weeks ago.

Aonuma commented on what he’s most excited about with Wind Waker HD, who his favorite character is in the game, and which feature he’s most looking forward to in A Link Between Worlds.

Something I wasn’t actually aware of: Aonuma wrote all of the text for the King of Hyrule.

Hi, I am Eiji Aonuma, producer of both The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Thanks for voting. We had such a good response, I decided to answer all of your questions! Here they are:

1. What are you most excited about in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for Wii U?
Because of all the creativity I have seen on Miiverse, I’m most looking forward to what people will do with the Tingle Bottles and how they use that feature outside of the main story.

2. Who is your favorite character in the original The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker?
My favorite character is the King of Hyrule. I wrote all of his text, so he’s kind of like me in the game.

3. What feature in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds are you most looking forward to experiencing?
I think I would have to say turning Link into a drawing. In the process of development, sometimes I will be playing with the top-down view and get stuck. I ask my team if they have finished designing the level yet, and they have to remind me that Link can turn into a drawing. I do that, and then I can solve the puzzle and complete the level. Even I forget he has that ability! I think it will be fun for everyone to see that aspect of the games.
