Atari announces Black Widow: Recharged, Asteroids: Recharged, and Breakout: Recharged for Switch
Atari, in partnership with developers Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox Studios, today announced Black Widow: Recharged, Asteroids: Recharged, and Breakout: Recharged. Black Window is up first on October 28, with the other two titles following in Q4 2021.
These three games follow Centipede: Recharged, which is out today on Switch.
Black Widow: Recharged “tangles a web of high-intensity, twin-stick arcade-style action as it hearkens back to 1982’s Black Widow with a modern-day neon refresh paying tribute to the original vector graphics.” The game has players defending the nest, now with new powerups. Couch co-op is supported, along with online leaderboards.
Here’s a trailer:
We have fewer details on Asteroids: Recharged and Breakout: Recharged. These titles “will reimagine the asteroid-annihilating and brick-breaking classics with many of the same modern flourishes in Centipede: Recharged and Black Widow: Recharged”.
“Our goal with the Recharged series is to both honor these arcade classics and make them feel fresh and modern,” Atari CEO Wade Rosen said of today’s news. “We want to revisit the pick-up-and-play, high-intensity arcade action that everyone loves, but with fresh surprises.”
Black Widow: Recharged, Asteroids: Recharged, and Breakout: Recharged will be sold digitally for Switch via the eShop. Each game will cost $9.99.
