Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Nintendo of Europe today announced that David Yarnton will be leaving the company.
While that name may not ring a bell for everyone, Yarnton has been working with Nintendo for nearly twenty years. He’s held positions at the UK and Australian offices.
Yarton most recently held the General Manager of Nintendo UK position.
Nintendo of Europe’s president, Satoru Shibata, and the UK senior management team “will be actively involved in the running of the UK office until a replacement is announced”.
The company prepared the following statement concerning Yarton’s departure:
“Nintendo of Europe announces with regret that David Yarnton has decided to pursue opportunities for a change of career outside Nintendo and therefore will shortly be leaving the company. David has had a distinguished career of almost 20 years at Nintendo, first as Sales Director of Nintendo Australia and then, since 2003, as General Manager of Nintendo UK. Nintendo wishes him every success in his choice of new career. Mr Shibata, European President of Nintendo, will be working alongside the UK’s senior management team and will be actively involved in the running of the UK office until a replacement is announced.”

It was rather odd seeing a lack of Japanese Wii U games at E3 2012. That doesn’t mean that Japanese developers aren’t interested in the system, however.
Famitsu interviewed a number of high-profile creators in its latest issue, including Yoshinori Ono, Suda 51 (who had promised No More Heroes 3 for Nintendo’s new console a few years ago!), Keiji Inafune, Akihiro Hino, and more. Head past the break to see what they had to say about the system.
