Hideo Kojima has never actually created a title for a Nintendo home console. Might that change for Wii U?

If the Metal Gear Solid director does make a title for the new system, it would be “unique”.

Speaking about the Wii U, Kojima said:

“Wii U is kind of a special case. The way the player interacts with the device is very different than any other device out there. So if I were to make a game for the Wii U, it would have to be a unique game.”

And what about the Fox Engine?

Kojima also commented on that for a brief moment:

“I don’t want any misconceptions that [the Fox Engine] is specific to a certain hardware platform, because it’s not. The way we envision it, it’s more this platform that isn’t mounted to a particular hardware.”

Ubisoft Montreal is the main developer behind Assassin’s Creed III. However, it appears that Ubisoft Annecy is working on the game’s multiplayer aspects.

Studio employee Tim Browne has listed his position as “Lead Game Designer on Assassin’s Creed 3 Multiplayer”. That’s a pretty clear-cut indication that Annecy will be responsible for the multiplayer functionality in Assassin’s Creed III!

Atlus shared the following Etrian Odyssey IV clip today:

The PC version of Ghost Recon Online will be free to play. That being said, the game will support microtransactions for improved weapons and other items.

The Wii U title will apparently operation in a similar fashion. According to a new report, there will be in-game purchases – players will be able to acquire new content by using “Ghost Coins” purchased with real-world money or through in-game currency.

It’s also worth mentioning that the developers are probably implementing weapon/gear hot-switching between respawns on the Wii U tablet.

It was revealed last week that a number of Sonic titles would be removed from the Japanese European Wii Shop Channel. Fortunately, the move will not impact other territories.

SEGA was able to confirm today that the upcoming removals “will not affect Europe, only Japan”. Based on this statement, it seems as though the titles will stay on the North American store as well.
