Braid Anniversary Edition sales

While we don’t have any specifics, it seems that the sales of Braid: Anniversary Edition have been disappointing across all platforms. Jonathan Blow, the game’s creator, has gone on record multiple times with updates about the performance.

About a week after launch in the middle of May, Blow wasn’t entirely sure what to make of the game’s sales yet, and pointed out how things like discounts would eventually come into play. A little more than a month later though, he mentioned how Braid “sold horribly” and “the future is uncertain.” Moving on to July 21, Blow said sales of Braid: Anniversary Edition “have been terrible, they’ve been utterly terrible”. Similar statements were again made on July 27.

All of these comments were made during live streams Blow held on Twitch. YouTube channel Blow Fan then put various clips together in a single video, which you can find here.

Braid originally debuted in 2008. The game came to a Nintendo platform for the first time with the Anniversary Edition, which included new levels, updated graphics, extensive developer commentary, and more.

Those interested in picking up Braid: Anniversary Edition can do so now on the Switch eShop. We have more information about the game here.
